Elmergib University is among the prestigious universities in our homeland Libya, which aims to spread awareness of the importance of science and knowledge and instill human values in the society through direct communication of various teaching and educational activities.

Elmergib University has worked to provide the country with scientific and specialized cadre in all areas of life. This is one of the most important characteristics of its mission for which it was created.

Elmergib University extends over a geographical area of approximately 1,500 square kilometers to include the cities and villages surrounding Al-Khums city, which are: Mesallata, Garabulli, Qasr Al-Akhyar, Al-Amamra, and Souk Al-Khamis Al-Sahel from Kaam to Leptis Magna. It includes 22 colleges and a language center and more than one hundred academic departments in all science fields.

Since one of the Elmergib University objectives is to spread science and knowledge and instill human values, it has encouraged sober-minded scientific research and published it in refereed scientific journals. It has established a website on the international information network, so that researchers in different parts of the world can view the research and studies results of its distinguished scholars, studies articles, and the results of their scientific experiments, to serve humanity.
