  Al-Mergib University plays a vital role in education of national importance. The faculty members in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering are actively engaged in related research areas. Especially, waste water treatment, separation and purification, membrane technology, fluid mechanics, corrosion, CO₂ capture & sequestration, polymer, and modeling & simulation. The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering is pleased to organize the    1^st International Conference on Chemical, Petroleum, and Gas Engineering (ICCPGE 2016), held in Alkhoms, Libya from 20^th to 22^nd December 2016. This conference is sponsored by Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, Libyan Company of Iron and Steel, Ahlia Cement Company, Libyan International Company for Technology LNET and General Electricity of Libya GECOL. The aim of this international conference is to cover wide range of topics related to chemical and petroleum engineering and to bring together researchers and academics to discuss diverse creative ideas.
